Color Enhanced Diamonds
Color Enhanced Diamonds have increased in popularity in recent years. Naturally-occurring colored diamonds such as blue, yellow and pink are very rare; about 1 out of every 10,000 mined are natural colored diamonds. This consequently makes them very expensive, and very few people have the pleasure of owning one. However, with all the modern advancements in the diamond industry, it is now easier to own one. By using the latest technologies, diamonds can now be treated to achieve desirable fancy colors which are beautiful, and, more importantly, inexpensive.
Color enhanced diamonds are diamonds that have undergone special treatments, such as heat treatments or irradiation. These processes penetrate the entire diamond, creating a permanent color change. These diamonds are completely safe to wear. Treated diamonds still have the same hardness on the Mohs' Scale as untreated diamonds; they also look like natural fancy colored diamonds.
